The day started with a moment of sadness as both teams remembered two club stalwarts Harold Bosisto and Colin Stemp who both unfortunately passed away within two weeks of each other during the winter months. A new shield called the Stemp Bosisto Trophy would now be played for each Bank Holiday Monday between the two clubs. So who would be the first club to hold the trophy. I believe Clive won the toss and asked Ebernoe to bat which delighted Ebernoe skipper Richard Stemp. We bagged the wicket of the Richard Stemp with the score on 31 but unfortunate for us things never went our way as the next two wickets amassed 150 runs with Matty Scaiff hitting a breathtaking 122 off just 57 balls needing only 49 balls to reach his Ton. Even the father and son and son relationship from the Fitzjohn family could not halt the rush of runs although Frankie did take two catches of younger brother Lewis's bowling this could not restrict Ebernoe to a score off 303 for 7 with all batsmen reaching double figures noticeably S.Crouch who got run out on 48. After another fine tea from the Ebernoe ladies it was our turn to bat. Lawrence and Andy opened up and we were soon 13-1 and after Clive was caught out by Richard Stemp for 0 Ebernoe never looked back, only a fine knock by Frankie Fitzjohn of 55 held up the Ebernoe's trouncing of us as we succumbed to 128 all out Many thanks to the Andy, Lewis, Dawn, Lawrence, Rendy and Harry for helping us out on the day. My highlight of the day was watching Bailey and his new found freind at Tea slightly overshadowed by Matt's brilliant knock.
